The Vermont Learners Association is hosting its first annual Student Voice Conference on Saturday, May 9th, from 2-5:00 pm at Champlain Valley Union High School in the library. The doors will open at 1:45 pm, and the conference will begin promptly at 2:00 pm. We will have an opening ceremony with speakers from various student groups across the state, two workshop blocks where students, administrators, educators, parents, and decision makers can learn how to thoughtfully seek out student perspectives, through curriculum, policy, and practice changes. Using hands-on workshops, discussions, and panels, we aim to make the day as interactive as possible. The event will end with a closing ceremony and student club/group information fair. Please extend this information to anyone you believe would be interested.

Led by student leaders from the Vermont Learners' Association, this workshop breaks down the education policies shaping Vermont schools and equips attendees with real tools to get involved. Through hands-on activities like affinity mapping and drafting a letter to your legislator, participants will explore what's most urgent in the coming biennium and how to take action. Whether you're a student, educator, or policymaker, this session is built on one core belief: nothing about us without us.
